The Wild Rift Horizon Cup marked Riot Games’ first global League of Legends: Wild Rift tournament, hosted at Suntec in Singapore during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. With no live audience, we collaborated entirely remotely with Riot to design a broadcast-ready set that delivered a unique viewing experience, even without a crowd in the room.
PROCESS
To give this mobile gaming event a distinct visual identity, we designed custom desks inspired by the dynamic “gesture” found in Wild Rift’s artwork and branding. Prioritizing player visibility on camera over traditional esports setups, we created an open layout that kept faces in focus—fitting for a mobile-based competition. Even the bar stools were custom-built exclusively for this event.

We approached the competition as a vast, immersive environment—anchored by an LED horizon and a literal “Rift” running through the center of the space. This bold design emphasized the competitive divide while also serving a practical purpose: enforcing social distancing during the height of the pandemic.
